This program is designed for health care professionals, faculty and students, or anyone interested in visualizing and learning about the complex neuroanatomy of the brainstem.
The 3D features allow users to visualize the external morphology of the brainstem as well as the cranial nerve fibers and nuclei that create the complex internal anatomy of the brainstem. Learning the intricate inter-relationships between the anatomic structures is greatly enhanced by the ability to view all the internal morphologic components at once or to select and highlight individual components while controlling the opacity/transparency of other anatomic structures.
A labeling feature is available that identifies the external morphology and cranial nerves associated with the brainstem.
A bonus 3D feature is the ability to visualize the brainstem nuclei associated with the functions of pain and temperature, light touch and pressure, proprioception, vibration and discriminative touch as well as taste, hearing and balance. In addition to the visualization capabilities, users can access textual information that describes the anatomic components of the brainstem.
The program features a true 3D interactive experience: The user can rotate, pan, and zoom the camera around the brainstem anatomy in three dimensions.

Cranial Nerves for iPhone and iPod Touch
Learning the 12 cranial nerves and the foramen in the base of the skull are an essential component of every anatomy course; all health professionals, anatomists, biology students and anthropologists have had to memorize their names and functions. Our app allows students to enjoy learning the nerves and foramen in a highly visual, interactive environment. The models are reconstructed from a high resolution CT scan, and the user can control the position and transparency of the skull and each nerve. Accompanying textual information is just a tap away.

Bassett Dissection Atlas for iPhone and iPod Touch
These exquisite photographs represent one of the world’s most extraordinary collections of human dissections. These dissections were prepared by Dr. David Bassett of Stanford University, resulting in an atlas such as you’ve never seen before.
This collection represents the most detailed and accurate display of human structure ever developed. The audio-enabled annotations and tap-on identification features used in the program provide unique functionality for the medical professional and the merely curious, alike.
This version contains a chapter on the Head and Neck, and the Thorax chapter is also available for in-app purchase.

Exploding Skull iPhone
Learning the name and location of each bone of the skull and the relationships between the bones is simplified with this exploding model. The App was reconstructed from a high resolution CT scan of a real human skull. Because each bone was carefully segmented, it can be viewed independent of the other bones and its anatomical landmarks identified. By cutting the skull in half in the mid-line all of the internal bones can be viewed. Repeatedly rotating and exploding the skull allows the user to appreciate and remember the complicated construction.
