Solutions to Common Technical Issues
Issue:
When I run my software, will my disc have to be in my computer, or will my computer have to be online?
Solution:
No. Once the atlas is installed, the disc is no longer needed. The only time the computer must be online is during the registration process.
Issue:
When I click on the tooth icon, it just jumps up and down on the Dock and the Atlas program doesn't load.
Solution:
Take the following actions to solve this problem:
  • Restart the computer.
  • If you just install the Atlas and try to run, please eject the Atlas DVD from DVD-Rom, please eject the Atlas DVD from DVD-Rom.
  • Verify that there is a folder named "3D Tooth Atlas" in the Applications Folder. If it doesn't exist, please reinstall the Atlas
  • Try running Software Update from the top-left apple-icon menu to make sure Java VM is up-to-date.
If it still doesn't load the Atlas, please contact our support.
Issue:
During installation of the software, I don't see the Agree or do not Agree button in the License Agreement Panel.
Solution:
Click the continue button and the Agree or do not Agree will appear.
Issue:
Using the slider bar is a bit odd. I have to click and drag on it before it is able to move. it then remains active after the cursor is moved off of the scroll bar.
Solution:
  • Click on the slider bar to set the mouse focus
  • Click and Drag
  • Click on the slider bar again to stop using the bar
Issue:
In Safari, A coffee cup icon with two curved arrows comes up when I can't see a certain type of image (kind of like a refresh icon with a coffee cup in the middle).
Solution:
The coffee cup signifies a problem or lack of Java.
Please try the following options:
  • Wait a moment for the program to load. If it does not load on its own, try running Software Update from the top-left apple-icon menu to make sure Java VM is up-to-date.
  • Safari menu (top left) > Preferences > Security > Enable Java.
If you try all options above and it still just load the coffee cup with 2 curved arrors, I think it's a Java applet that failed to start for some reason. And if your Java is indeed broke, you can download it from Apple. Click here to download from Apple
Issue:
I entered the first licence number provided and it gave an activation code. I copied the activation code and pasted it into the box and it pasted a different number. I typed the activation code in and that worked;
Solution:
Always type the activation code into the box instead of copying and pasting.
