Frequently Asked Questions
Tooth Atlas 6.4 is not supported on Safari 5.1 or Mac OS X Lion (both were released in late July).
If you've recently made either of these upgrades, you might notice certain interactive graphics are no longer visible.
A new version of Tooth Atlas (version 6.5) will be released in early September.
Tooth Atlas 6.5 will work on both Mac OS X Lion and Safari 5.1.
If you have Tooth Atlas 6.4 and would like to upgrade to Tooth Atlas 6.5, please contact support@ehuman.com.
For more information visit the eHuman Lion Support Page.
The new version of Tooth Atlas uses a separate window to display various interactive content.
For best results we recommend making your browser a little smaller and moving it away from the left side of the screen.
(use a 3D models page to get a wide window)

You can also choose from three window sizes on the Table of Contents page (Mac only):

You can skip this warning by enabling the following check box on Internet Explorer:
Internet Options -> Advanced -> Security -> Allow active content to run in files on My Computer
The easiest way to solve this issue is to register your Tooth Atlas from either the Comparisons page or Morphology page.
To navigate to one of these pages, choose a tooth from the Table of Contents then choose Comparisons or Morphology from the top of the page.
This issue will only occur for users with certain, outdated java versions. (Java versions 1.6.0_27 and above should not experience this issue)
Windows users:
- go to google.com in Internet Explorer and enter the following search phrase: "java check version"
- the first result should bring you to a page at Oracle.com that will check your java version
- follow the instructions to make sure you have the latest version of java for Internet Explorer
Mac users may find themselves continually being prompted to allow java content to run on their computer.
You might find that the popup windows happen less often if you choose NOT to always allow content from this publisher.
This appears to be a bug in the new java plugin. We are hoping this issue will be solved soon.
Increase Java memory settings:

When loading a 3D Model viewer, make sure you wait until the list of features appears on the left. Failure to do so may cause your browser to freeze.

No. Once the Atlas is installed, you should not need your disc and you should not need to be online. We strongly suggest keeping your disc in the case somewhere safe. Should you need to reinstall, they will both be necessary.
Yes. We recommend running Tooth Atlas v6.4 in Firefox 3.6.
You can download Firefox 3.6 here. If you already have a newer version of Firefox and would like to keep the current version in addition to downloading 3.6, you will need to rename your current version of Firefox in your Applications folder.
Once your download is complete, follow these instructions to use Tooth Atlas 6.4 within the Firefox 3.6 browser.
1) Open Tooth Atlas as you normally would. The program will open in Sarafi.
2) Copy the URL that appears in the home bar of Safari when you first open the Tooth Atlas.
3) Paste the URL into the home bar of Firefox 3.6 and press enter.
4) Bookmark this page in Firefox.
5) From this point forward you will open Firefox and click on your bookmark to access your version of Tooth Atlas 6.4.
This solution will NOT work on Lion OS.
